Welcome to Chipper Chickenz Coral

This started as a family contest for the perfect omelet. A quest that proved there can be no perfect omelet without well cared for chickens.

Here at Chipper Chickenz Coral we WERE cultivating chickens, Cayuga ducks, geese, Guineas, and KuneKune hogs. But Cinco de Mayo 2022 killed my business.

We are expecting 2 litters of KuneKune piglets by the end of July.

Our livestock is free range, organic, and oh so upset. We currently house not much.

~ The farm is destroyed at the moment. The bugs have declared war. ~

Cinco de Mayo is usually a day we grill, play with water balloons, enjoy a bottle or two of Tequila and Mescal. But this year…

It was 0 dark thirty am. The rain continued to pound on the roof. It had lulled me into a false sense of peaceful slumber. A scream from my son tore me out of the last pleasant nightmare of this year.

“What?!!” I bolted upright in bed. Then my feet splashed on to a dark mire in my bedroom. It was everywhere. Icy pitch dark water met my calves. Heart pounding, blood roaring in my ears I called out, “we are flooding!!”

Cinco de Mayo 2022 was demoralizing, dehumanizing, and heart breaking. Nothing has worked out as I anticipated, wanted, or imagined. It is a nightmare brought into reality. A nightmare that refuses to give up its death grip on my life.

Our once green and flowering yard is contaminated with filth and festering decay. I see necrotizing ooze when I look out the window. Flies and unknown bugs swarm around us as we work to clean up. The pungent odor assaults me every time I go outside.

We have no house. We lost all our belongings. Not even shoes because of the filth within the flood waters.

I have put all my animals up for sale because I don’t want to keep them in this ugliness. They deserve to be in a clean place.

We still have a few animals left if anyone is interested. I have two Cayuga ducklings. There are four Nigerian Dwarfs available. One guinea hog ready to for the butcher. Two pregnant KuneKune sows. One goose. One baby guinea.

Decades of hard work and savings washed away in a handful of hours. Gone.

Insurance will not cover anything inside the house. Ask me about the Red Cross. It’s not brilliant.

I am in a bitter place. I intend to marinate myself in bitterness for at least a few more days. Bitterness and mourning.

Squirrel.

However, I am ecstatic that Johnny Depp won. He is innocent and Amber is not a good or even fair liar. That is what actors do right. They get paid to lie. For a living.

So… She ended her career in spectacular fashion. Wonder if she thinks it was worth it? Oh right, she doesn’t think. Duh.
